Where do I find it?
Settings > Gray Line Licensee TourCMS Plugin > Search Keyword
Here’s how it appears on your homepage:
What does it mean?
How can you attract more organic traffic to your homepage using the right search terms, while guiding your users directly to the results they’re looking for?
The answer lies in activating the keyword section on your homepage, titled ‘Discover your dream tour’. While the title is fixed and cannot be edited, you have full control over the keywords displayed here.
Additionally, your website’s search forms support auto-complete suggestions, helping users find what they’re looking for faster. You can customise these suggestions directly from your website dashboard, giving you even more control over the user experience.
What should I do?
1. Navigate to Settings > Gray Line Licensee TourCMS Plugin
To begin, go to Settings and then select Gray Line Licensee TourCMS Plugin.
2. Enter search keywords
In this section, you can enter a comma-separated list of relevant search keywords for your tours. These keywords will power both the auto-complete functionality in your website's search bar and the "Discover Your Dream Tour" section on your homepage. It's essential that the links return relevant results and not empty search pages.
3. Clear your browser cache
After entering your keywords, clear your browser cache to ensure any changes you make take effect.

4. Log out and test changes
You must be logged out to test the changes. Open a new private browser window, perform a hard refresh, and check if the updated keywords are now appearing correctly on your site.
5. How Keywords Appear on Your Homepage
Once configured, your search keywords will appear as links in the Keywords section of your homepage. When a user clicks on one of these keywords, they will be taken to the search results page for that term.
6. Default keyword limit
By default, this section displays up to 50 keywords. However, you can change this limit by following these steps:
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > Gray Line Licensee TourCMS Plugin.
- Find the section titled Home page SEO keywords limit.
- Set the limit to your preferred value.
7. How keyword matching works
When a user selects a keyword, a query is run against TourCMS to search for the exact keyphrase. If a match is found in one of the following four areas, the relevant tour will be returned:
- Tour Name / Tour Name Long
- Tour Summary
- Tour Location
- Short Description
Examples of Keyword Matching
Example 1: If you enter "Burj Khalifa" as a keyword, and it appears in the search box's auto-complete area, the tour (as shown in the screenshot below) will be returned when searching for that keyphrase. There is a match for "Burj Khalifa" in one of the four key areas for that tour.
Example 2: If you add "Burj Khalifa Dubai" as a keyword, it will appear in the auto-complete area. However, this tour will not be returned when searching for that key phrase, because the exact string "Burj Khalifa Dubai" does not match any of the four key areas in TourCMS for that tour.
