What does it mean?
In WordPress, a Contact page is a dedicated, static page on your website designed to provide visitors with various ways to get in touch with you or your organisation. It typically includes elements such as a contact form, email address, phone number, and sometimes a physical address or even a map. The primary purpose of a Contact page is to facilitate communication, address customer queries, provide support, and even generate leads, serving as a crucial bridge between your website and your audience.
To make things easier for you, we provide an already created Contact page template that you can easily edit to change your contact details, just in case you need to update them. In this article, we explain exactly how to do it.
What should I do?
To get started, navigate to Pages in your WordPress dashboard and search for "Contact":
You'll then need to edit the relevant page, which is typically named something like "Contact Gray Line Destination":
Here's an example of how your Contact Page might look:
Your Contact Page uses a custom template that we've already provided for you. While it comes with a default layout, you have the flexibility to customise it to suit your specific needs. For instance, you can easily add a contact form to allow visitors to send direct messages, or update your contact details as required.
Editing your contact details
To update your contact information, simply edit the details directly within the page's editing section. Once you've made your changes, click 'Update' (or 'Save' if applicable) in the top right corner to publish them.
Adding a contact form
You can add a contact form to your Contact page.
To do this, add the shortcode from a Mailchimp form to your page. If you are using the free version of Mailchimp, you can only use one form, so you cannot create a new one if you are already using the Newsletter form explained here. However, if you have a Mailchimp paid version, you can create a new form as explained here and then add the new shortcode to the Contact page.
