What does it mean?
We have introduced a new feature that allows customers to download PDF versions of standard TourCMS vouchers. This ensures your guests can easily access their vouchers across different devices and booking channels.
What’s new?
Device-Friendly Downloads: Customers can download PDFs directly from the voucher page. The layout automatically adjusts for mobile or desktop screens.
Flexible Distribution: Once enabled in your Voucher Design settings, you can automatically attach these PDFs to confirmation emails or share them via API with OTAs like GetYourGuide and Viator.
Where do I find it?
CONFIGURATION > SYSTEM & SETUP > YOUR BOOKINGS > VOUCHER SETTINGS
What should I do?
How to enable the download PDF voucher:
Once in the Voucher Setting tab you’ll need to tick the checkbox under Download voucher as PDF.
Please note: This feature only works with the standard TourCMS Voucher Design. If you are using a custom design, enabling this setting will have no effect (PDF buttons, API links, and email attachments will not appear).
Once the Standard Voucher Design is enabled, a Download PDF button will appear on the voucher page.
Smart Formatting: The PDF automatically optimizes for the user's device (mobile or desktop). screens wider than 768px).
Localized: The button text automatically translates based on the selected language.
Desktop version (screens wider than 768px)
Mobile version (screens narrower than 768px)
When enabled, PDF download links will be included in the following booking API endpoints:

Next step
Attaching PDF vouchers into confirmed booking emails
By default, no PDF attachment is added. To automatically attach voucher PDFs to confirmation emails, configure your settings here:
CONFIGURATION > CHANNELS > SELECT CHANNEL > GENERAL SETUP > BOOKING EMAIL TEMPLATES
Once here, select CONFIRMED BOOKING #1
Scroll down and simply select your preferred PDF format from the settings to enable the attachment.
WARNING: The PDF attachment menu is only visible under Confirmed booking #1 if the feature is actively enabled and you are using the standard voucher design. If your settings become invalid later (e.g., you switch to a custom voucher design or disable the PDF feature), this menu will automatically hide and PDFs will stop attaching to emails.
Good to know
Misconfiguration cases
If the PDF voucher feature isn't working as expected, use this quick checklist to diagnose and resolve the issue.
Global Feature Issues (Buttons, API, or Menus Missing)
If the Download PDF button is missing, the API isn't returning links, or the email format menu has disappeared, check these three common causes:
Cause |
Trigger |
Resolution |
Missing/Invalid Design |
A custom or unsupported voucher design is selected. |
Switch to the Standard Voucher Design in your account settings. |
Feature Disabled |
"Download Voucher as PDF" is toggled off at the account level. |
Enable the PDF download setting in your global account configuration. |
Breaking Changes |
Settings were altered after a successful setup (e.g., changing the design later). |
Re-verify that both the standard design and the PDF toggle are still active. |
Specific Functional Issues
Case 1: PDFs work everywhere EXCEPT email attachments
Symptoms: The download button and API links work perfectly, but emails have no attachments.
Resolution: Navigate to your channel configuration (
Confirmed booking #1) and explicitly select a PDF format. By default, no attachment is added until a format is chosen.
Case 2: GetYourGuide PDFs are not being sent
Symptoms: PDF URLs are missing from GetYourGuide bookings.
-
Resolution: Ensure the following three conditions are met:
Global PDF voucher generation is enabled.
Seating is actively enabled for the product.
No alternative voucher URLs are being provided through sync or other OTAs.
