In this video, we will explain you how to configure an insurance for your passengers.
Transcript
Hi! In this video, we'll show you how to set up travel insurance or any other offer that's priced per person for a tour, for a set travelling period, within TourCMS. These are referred to as options. They are additional items that can be offered alongside a tour.
Creating an Option
To create an option, you need to go to the Options section of TourCMS. Do this by clicking on Products at the top, and then selecting Options. Scroll down a bit.
We want to offer the option to book travel insurance when a customer books a tour, so I'll call it "Travel Insurance." Next, you need to choose the type. The type allows you to group related options together, and it's solely for reporting purposes and for displaying it on the booking engine. Once you've set this, click on "Create Option."
Setting the Price for the Option
The second step is to set the price for this option. To do that, you need to head to the Dates and Prices section of the option by clicking on the edit icon there, and then navigating to Dates and Prices.
Next, you need to create a season for the date range during which you want your option to be available and set the price. For example, let's say it will be available during February and until the end of March, with a customer price of £20. Then, click on "Create New Date Range."
Configuring the Duration Rule and Visibility
The next step is to configure the duration rule to "pick quantity," which should already be the default. You'll find this under Setup at the top, and then Money. As you can see, mine is already set to "quantity," but if yours is different, I recommend you change it. This means that the price we set will be multiplied by the number of days of travel insurance the customer buys.
Then, please go to the General tab because we want to set the visibility to "Fully Public," which allows this option to be booked online. Remember to "Save Changes."
Associating the Option with a Tour
Finally, you just need to associate this option with your tour. Go to the specific tour (for example, the Majestic Tour) and click on Options. Here, you can add the option that you'd like to include with this tour. Now you can see it listed there.
Testing the Option in the Booking Engine
Let's do a test. Go to the booking engine and book a ticket – for example, two adults for the Majestic Tour. You will see, during the booking process for this tour, specifically at step 2 of 5, it will display the options that you have configured for this tour. I already had "Dinner" configured, but I've just included "Travel Insurance," which is priced per person.
