Today, we'll look at how to connect to a travel agent on TourCMS. The control of the connection is up to the supplier. Travel agents cannot start selling on TourCMS without the connection being approved by the supplier. You can create the connection in three ways.

Connecting a Travel Agent
The first one would be by going to Partners, Local Agents, into what we call Travel Agent Manager. You can then invite a travel agent via the Invite button right underneath their name. This will take you to an email template that you can review and click Send Email Invite.

The second way would be for that agent to send you an email request that they would do via their Tour CMS agent ID. The email notification is a one-time only.

The third way would be by going to Marketplace Agents and locating the agent that you would like to connect with. You would then click on the Connect icon via actions. You need to choose the Channel ID that you would like to connect to them.

Here you're going to see various options for connecting permissions:

  • Sale Only gives the agent no booking access to the bookings they make.
  • Summary Statistics is used for affiliates. They can see a summary of the booking data but without any customer information.
  • The Full Booking Details option has two different variants:
    • One is the Retail Travel Agent, which would mean that the agent must pay at the point of booking.
    • And the Full Booking Details, which is a Trusted Travel Agent, allows that agent to make bookings immediately confirmed without a payment being made at the same time.

Please note that that option is the one you need to choose when it comes to online travel agents. You click the relevant option, Create a Connection, and now your connection with that travel agent is created on Tour CMS.
