How to generate custom reports?

In this video, we will explain you how to create and generate custom reports.

Hello again! In this video, we are going to learn how to create a custom report with TourCMS.

Creating a Custom Report
First of all, we want to head to the Report section in our main menu, and we get to the Report and Analysis page. As you can see, TourCMS provides a comprehensive list of reports. However, it's possible that you need to create a custom report with some specific operational information you're interested in. In that case, I'll suggest creating a report template and then generating this report every time you need it. Let's see how to do it.

Step 1: Generate a Report Template
In the first step, you need to generate a template with all the fields you need to display in your report. So we go to Report Templates, and there we will start to create a new report by giving it a name. So we create the report, and we get to the report configuration. We can select which language we want to create a report in, but we'll keep it simple and just leave the default language there.

Step 2: Add Sections to the Report
Now we can add different sections to the report. So if we click on Select to Add Your First Section, you get the different sections of the TourCMS database, and you can name this section in the report. So we just name it "Customer" and add the new section.

In the next screen, we can choose what columns we want to show in the report. In our case, we will choose only staff, status, booking ID, and booking name. You have more possibilities here to customise your report, changing the name of the section, leaving blank lines between this section and the previous one (that's the first one, so it doesn't make too much sense). You can change the size of the heading. So once you have configured all this, you just Save the Changes, and we have our first section in our report template.

Now we can continue adding more sections if required. For example, we add two more sections:

One, a booking summary, so we just name that "Booking." And here we're only going to include the booking status. We Save the Changes.
And we add our last section here, the booking details. And here we want to note the sales details.
Once this is done, we can save our report. You can also move the sections once they are configured. And when everything is set up, we just Save Our Changes, and now our test report template is saved.

Step 3: Generate the Custom Report
To create a customer report, we go back to the home page, and we're going to search for a booking. So once we search for the bookings, you can see here our report templates; there's only the one we created right now. And then you can easily extract that data from these bookings in this report template, and it would give you a very nice, neat overview of all the bookings included in your search.
