How to create extra booking data fields?

In this video, we will explain to you how to create extra booking data fields.

I'm going to explain how to create extra data fields to collect extra details about your customers.

Please go to your Configuration, System and Setup, and then click on Extra Customer Data Fields. You will see the standard data fields which you want to activate, but if you want to create a new one, you need to click on Create a New Content Field, and you will see this page where you have to enter the necessary information.

Creating Extra Data Fields
The first thing is the details for the token. Click here to activate or deactivate it. Now choose Read Only or Hidden for the token for the tour leader or supplier view. Enter the specific token you would like to generate for email templates. And all these options allow you to choose how these fields will be displayed in the booking engine.

Let's see some more examples:

  • The numeric type only allows entering numbers.
  • The date type shows the date format with a calendar to choose the date, or you can enter the date manually in the box.
  • And the drop-down sets a list of different options.

You also need to set these extra fields for every channel in your account. You can set different labels (names) depending on the channel. You can configure the token as a mandatory field, or if you want to show it in the booking engine.

Once the extra data field has been configured, two tokens are generated to use for an email template. Please don't forget to Save Changes.

Finally, you can create different extra data fields and activate or deactivate them whenever you want, and you can give them the order you want. Remember, we have an article about it, and you can take it should you need any further assistance.
