What does it mean?
This article explains the Viator Partial Mapping feature within TourCMS, which allows for more flexible handling of tour departure codes.
Historically, the TourCMS Viator integration required tours with multiple departures (e.g., different times or languages) to use an identical Supplier Note (e.g., "EN", "LUNCH") for all departures of a certain type.
Viator Partial Mapping is a solution designed for tour operators whose internal systems generate unique codes for each departure (e.g., "EN1300" or "EN1700"). This feature enables the TourCMS integration to perform a partial match, meaning it can map all departures whose unique codes start with a specified value (e.g., all codes starting with "EN"). This ensures seamless synchronisation between your TourCMS setup and Viator.
What should I do?
Prerequisites
To utilise Viator Partial Mapping, two primary conditions must be met:
Mapping assistant completion: The initial setup of the Mapping Assistant must be completed by a member of Palisis staff. Please contact our Support team here to enable this functionality.
How to configure Partial Mapping
Once the prerequisites are in place, you can activate the partial mapping feature for your products:
-
Navigate to PRODUCTS > TOURS: Locate the specific tour you wish to configure and go to the setup tab
-
Access the Viator mapping code settings within the OPERATIONS / SUPPLIERS tab and click on the Auto map using mapping assistant radio button.
Please note that this option is only available if you have Mapping assistant already configured as Multiples departures per day (varies part match Supplier Note and Start Time).
Save changes: Click Save Changes to apply the setting.
The system will now use your pre-configured Mapping Assistant values to correctly manage the partial mapping of your tour departures with Viator.
