What does it mean?

Google Things to do (GTTD) allows tour and activity operators to showcase their products directly on Google Search and other Google surfaces. To run Google Ads campaigns for these products, you must link your Google Things to do account with your Google Ads account via Palisis.

Why link Google Things to do with Google Ads?

Linking these accounts enables you to run targeted Google Ads campaigns for your tours and activities, leveraging the products connected through Palisis. This integration ensures that your product details, pricing, and real-time availability are synced and displayed accurately in your ads, leading to higher conversion rates, improved search visibility, and streamlined ad management.

What should I do?

To establish the link between your Google Ads/Things to do account and Palisis, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Initiate the link request in Google Ads

Start the integration in Google Ads by requesting an association with the Palisis data feed. This creates the secure connection Google uses to retrieve your product information, including pricing and availability.

  1. Open Data manager: Sign in to your Google Ads account, click the Tools icon in the top navigation, and select Data manager.
  2. Connect a product: Click + Connect Product.
  3. Find Actions Center: In the search bar, enter Things to do Center or Actions Center. Google is migrating the name from Things to do Center to Actions Center, so search for the alternative name if the first one is not available.
  4. Enter the ID Things to do Center: This ID identifies Palisis as the source of your product information. You can find this ID in your Actions Center account on the Configuration > Account and Users page. It will be listed next to the “Linking Account ID” under the “Google Ads Links” header.

Enter the ID Things to do Center
  5. Submit the request: Check that the Linking Account ID is correct, then click Submit.

Why this matters: This request authorises Google Ads to retrieve live product data from Palisis. Once the association is approved, your ads can use current pricing and availability, reducing manual updates and the risk of price discrepancies or overbookings.

Step 2: Notify Palisis support

Once you have requested the association from your side, you must notify the Palisis Support team. The association cannot be finalised automatically; a Palisis Product Specialist must manually accept and approve the linking request in the Google Action Center.

Step 3: Provide your product IDs

When you contact support to approve the linking, you must also provide the TourCMS product IDs of the tours and activities you want to use in your Google Ads. The support team must manually add these product IDs into the Google Action Center at the moment they accept the association. If the product IDs are not added, they cannot be used in your Google Ads campaigns.

You can find the tour ID by going to the tours setup, in the General tab.

Step 4: Finalization

The Palisis support team will accept the linking request in the Google Action Center and configure the connection for the product IDs you provided. Once completed, your products will be synced and fully available for your Google Ads campaigns.
