Hello there! In this video, I am going to show you a little trick on how to resize images for your RTF documents. The file size in TourCMS for RTF files is limited to one megabyte, so you really want to keep your images small.
Resizing Images
There are a lot of ways you can downsize images. You can use Microsoft Word, for instance. If you want to do it with Microsoft Word, you just want to go, after inserting an image, to Picture Format, and then you can Compress the Picture. It gives you different options on how to get it smaller, but the output is still quite big, actually, normally.
So, maybe the best way is to use a program everybody has and no one uses: yes, it is good old Paint! In Paint, it's really easy to resize pictures. So let's say if you open a picture like this one that's almost 2 megabytes, now when we open it, you can just say, "Okay, I want to resize," and then crop it down to, let's say, 30 per cent of the original size. You do an OK here, you save it, let's give it the same name, let's call it "compressed," "kind of compressed."
So you can see the picture here really gets much smaller. If we look at the file sizes here, we have the original picture, which is almost 2 megabytes, and we have the compressed picture, which is 300K, which is kind of ideal for sending it out in an email or also using it on webpages.
So, my suggestion would be to use good old Paint or similar for quick resizing of your images.
