I am going to explain how to create a promo code. Promo codes are short pieces of text that can be used by customers at the time of booking in order to get a discount.
Creating a Promo Code
To create one of them, please go to your Configuration, System and Setup, and then click on Promo and Gift Codes.
Now, enter the name (the promo code that the customers will enter to get a discount), choose the type, and assign a name to it. Now, click on Create, and you will see the general settings.
But let's see the one I already created. Remember to set it to Active here. Choose the name, the percentage discount, and the usage limits for the promo code.
With this, you can configure a date range for the promo code. The date range can refer to when the booking is made, to the travel date range, or a combination of both. Moreover, you can decide which days of the week you want the promo code to be valid according to the tour's start date.
With Applicable Tours and Options, you can choose which tours the promo code applies to. In this case, I chose "Granada Centro Walking Tour." If the tour has options, you can decide if you want the promo codes to be applied to the options or if you want them to be offered at full price, even if the tour has a discount.
With the Membership setting, you can decide if the promo code is only valid if the customer provides a membership number.
Finally, don't forget to click on Save Changes.
Adding the Promo Code to a Channel
Now you need to add the promo code to a booking. Please go to your Configuration, Channels, and click on Step 3: Customer Information. Scroll down until Promo Code and enter the promo code heading text, and click on Save Changes. Don't forget to set this last step in those channels where you want to apply the promo code.
Testing the Promo Code
Now it's time to check if we have created it correctly. Choose one of your tours, in my case, "Granada Central Walking Tour." Make a booking test, and now you will see the discount here.
