I'm going to explain how to set up deposits and how to ensure that the final balance is paid by the customer or partner.
Setting Up Deposit Rules
Let's see an example. Go to your Configuration and click on Channels. Click on Sale Prices, Deposits, and Booking Fees. Scroll down. In the deposit section, you can either select a fixed deposit or a percentage value. In this case, I will set the percentage of the sale value here. Please don't forget to Save Changes as always. And now, when a booking is made, the system will automatically show the deposit amount instead of the full balance.
Ensuring Final Balance Payment
Once you set up the deposit, you need to ensure that the balance will be paid by the customer before the tour takes place. The best way to do this is to set up an email template that will inform the customer and enable them to pay the balance by following a link.
Please go to your Configuration, Channel, select the corresponding channel, and then click on Email Templates. Now select the template Balance Due Soon. Click here to enable it, and in this case, the email will be sent three days before the tour starts. Here is an example of the email body that can be used. And when the balance is due soon, the customer will receive an email with a link to proceed with the payment.
Remember, we have an article about it, and you can check it should you need any further assistance.
