In this video, we will explain to you what deposits are and how they are used in TourCMS.
Transcript
I'm going to talk about deposits. Deposits in TourCMS allow you to determine the amount of money that customers must pay. You can configure deposits in two different ways: at a channel level or for an individual product.
Setting Up Channel Deposit Settings
Let's see how to set up channel deposit settings. From your home page, click on Configuration, Channels, Sales Prices, Deposits, and Booking Fees. Scroll down, and in the Deposit section, you can set either a fixed amount per person, per booking, or a percentage of the booking total. You can ask TourCMS to pick the highest or lowest out of all those. After that is done, don't forget to Save Changes.
Setting Up Individual Product Deposit Settings
Now let's see how to set up individual product deposit settings. In order to do that, please click on one of your tours, click on Setup, and then go to the Money tab. Here we have several options:
- Number one: Default Logic Rules. Whichever deposit settings are configured at the channel level will be used.
- Number two: Percentage Rule. Choose the second box and enter the percentage to require the deposit.
- Or Number three: Choose this box and enter an amount. That amount will be included in the deposit. And ticking the "per person" box will cause the amount to be multiplied by the number of people or times booked; otherwise, the amount will just be added once per booking.
Again, click on Save Changes.
Deposits with Agent Bookings
And lastly, let's see how deposits work with agent bookings. By default, agent bookings will follow the standard deposit rules. However, it is possible to configure that individual agents do not require a deposit payment. In case you want to change this, you would have to click on Partners, Local Agents, click on Setup for the agents you wish to edit, and change their deposit setting.
Remember, we have an article about this, and you can check it if you need any further assistance.
