What does it mean?

The Airbnb integration lets you connect your Airbnb Experiences to TourCMS, so TourCMS can manage availability, capacity and eligible pricing while Airbnb remains the guest-facing sales channel. Once an Experience is connected, TourCMS sends departure information to Airbnb and Airbnb sends new bookings back to TourCMS as reservations.

This article explains how to connect and disconnect Experiences, plus the main requirements and limitations to check before using the integration.

What should I do?

First, connect your Airbnb account to TourCMS. For instructions, visit the article Airbnb integration | Connecting your Airbnb account to TourCMS

Then, continue as follows.

Connecting your TourCMS tours with your Airbnb Experiences

Log in to your Airbnb account and fully configure your experiences. TourCMS does not maintain your product settings or content. You must load your tours as Experiences, Services are NOT supported by TourCMS.

  1. You do not need to configure any Instances for your experiences in Airbnb, once connected TourCMS will synchronise those with your Tour departures.

  2. In TourCMS, in Configuration & Setup scroll down and click the Airbnb page.

  3. You will see a list of the Experiences you have loaded in Airbnb.

  4. Experiences start off disconnected from TourCMS, meaning you can load availability (Instances) via the Airbnb interface and bookings do not go to TourCMS.

  5. To connect an Experience:

    2. If you have multiple TourCMS Channels connected to Airbnb you will need to first select the Channel to use, after that the Tour and finally, for tours with multiple departure types (e.g. with lunch, without lunch) choose the departure type.
check mark button TourCMS will notify Airbnb that you wish TourCMS to synchronise your Instances and that bookings should be sent to TourCMS.

  6. To disconnect an Experience:

    1. On the Airbnb page in TourCMS click the Manage button alongside the Airbnb Experience you wish to disconnect with TourCMS.

    2. Then you need to click on Disconnect button and we will remove the mapping between Airbnb Activity and your TourCMS product.
check mark button TourCMS will notify Airbnb that you wish to manage your Instances in the Airbnb UI and that bookings should not be sent to TourCMS

Activity Unlisting

TourCMS now allows users to unpublish their activities directly from the TourCMS backoffice. For published activities, we will display an Unlist button that allows operators to unpublish them.

ℹ️

Please note that once the activity is unlisted, it cannot be published again from TourCMS. Operators need to log in to Airbnb in order to publish it again.

Good to know: requirements and restrictions

  • When you create your experience in Airbnb, please keep in mind that TourCMS does not support both public and private bookings. It only supports one of them, so choose either private or public bookings, but not both.

  • The account must have a timezone defined. For more information, visit New style account timezone.

  • Tours must have Mapping Assistant configured. Only TourCMS tours with a valid Mapping Assistant configuration will be available for connecting to Airbnb Experiences. If you don’t see a tour listed in the connection window, contact Palisis support.

  • Experiences in Airbnb support only one offer type. If you have a complex TourCMS product, such as departures with and without lunch or departures per language, create separate Airbnb Experiences.

  • Airbnb supports Adult, Child and Infant rates only. Airbnb defines the age bands: Adults are 13+, Children are 2–12 and Infants are under 2.

  • Child and infant prices cannot vary by date or time; they are set at Experience level.

  • Airbnb only allows the adult price to be updated per departure/instance. Changes to other rates in TourCMS will not trigger an update for the matching Airbnb instance.

  • The adult price cannot be changed on a departure once an Airbnb booking has been made for that departure.

  • All departures must have a defined start time, either fixed at tour level or set per departure. The “Not applicable” time option is not supported for Airbnb.

  • Airbnb only allows instances/departures at 15-minute intervals. Departures with start times outside those intervals will fail to sync.

  • Airbnb defines the end time at tour/activity level, not per departure, so TourCMS does not check the end time in departure management.

  • The maximum Airbnb capacity per instance is 16.

  • Before connecting a product, make sure your Airbnb pricing configuration allows TourCMS to create and update instances. Airbnb requires a default price; this price must not be higher than any of your TourCMS departure prices, otherwise errors may occur when TourCMS manages the activity.

FAQs

My departures are not syncing to Airbnb (no dates or times appear / some dates missing). Why?

  • Check each departure has a valid start time (no “Not applicable” time): Airbnb requires a defined start time.
  • Ensure the start times are in 15‑minute increments (00, 15, 30, 45). Any other times will fail to sync.
  • Confirm you are only expecting one offer type per Experience. Complex TourCMS products (e.g. with/without lunch, per language) must be split into multiple Airbnb Experiences.
  • Review the “Common Departures Sync Issues” section on the same page for specific Airbnb error messages.

Prices or capacity look wrong on Airbnb compared to TourCMS. What could cause this?

  • Airbnb only supports Adult, Child and Infant bands, with fixed age rules (Adults 13+, Children 2–12, Infants under 2). Differences from your TourCMS bands may appear.
  • Child and infant prices can’t vary by date/time in Airbnb; they’re set at the Experience level.
  • Airbnb only allows updating the adult price per departure; changes to other rates in TourCMS won’t trigger instance updates.
  • Check your default price in Airbnb: it must not be higher than any corresponding TourCMS departure price, otherwise instance creation/updates can fail.
  • Maximum instance capacity in Airbnb is 16; higher capacities in TourCMS will be capped.
